What is Windows 10X?

Microsoft came with a new edition of Windows 10 recently which launched it at its surface event when it launched its Surface Neo. It is not a new operating system. Windows 10X is a new edition of Windows 10 designed for dual-screen devices like Microsoft Surface Neo. Microsoft says that it is built on a new version of Windows 10 giving a better user experience and enhanced security.

Microsoft Neo which is going to be released soon is coming with Windows 10X, Microsoft's new version of Windows 10. Let's take a look at its new device. 

A new seamless user experience

Microsoft's new Windows 10X features a new user interface built with modern technologies. the new user interface adjusts itself seamlessly with how the user uses it. It works well in Laptop as well as in Tablet mode, or in tent mode when the user wants to watch some movies.

Note: Microsoft's new operating systems have been redesigned from the ground up and this also means that legacy shell elements won't be there anymore like Control Panel, File Explorer and error dialogues and icons are gone in Windows 10.
As is said earlier in my previous articles Microsoft has come a long way when it first launched its first edition of Windows 10. It was not that great, but it had some new things in it, as the years passed by, the user experience kept getting better and then Microsoft decided to make Windows more APP LIKE. It started to roll out many features from the Control Panel and included them in the settings App.  As is said previously day will come when the whole UI will look more like an APP

A new start menu

The start menu has been completely redesigned, It includes a search bar which gives you a system-wide search, it can also perform web searches, and reach for installed apps. The Menu also adapts itself according to the user as it updates itself with things that the user might straight jump to like documents, office files, etc. 

Legacy support( App run in containers)

Apps will run differently in Windows 10X then you would run then on a traditional Windows 10 device. Windows 10X will run traditional Win32 desktop apps but in containers. Windows 10X will also run Universal Windows App(UWP) and Progressive Windows Apps(PWA) and it will also run them in containers.
Unlike legacy applications, modern UWP and web apps will run natively on Windows 10X. All classic Win32 applications will run in a single, combined container. They remain isolated from your core Windows apps and can't cause crashes or security problems. Programs that affect system files or partition hard drives won't be allowed. 

Improved battery life

With the new Windows 10X, battery life is said to increase, when the user is not running legacy apps the system is not getting bogged down by legacy components, which improves battery life. Win32 applications will be isolated from the rest of the system and Microsoft can control what they can do including managing background tasks and preventing startup programs from slowing down your PC.
