We will see how you can zip files and compress them(to compress and shrink the size so that they take less space on the storage). I will show you how you can extract them as well.

What is a ZIP file?
They are a special type of files, they are used to encapsulate one or more files into one folder. Thereby reducing the overall size. It is a very useful way of storing and sending files.  In order to access the files, you need to unzip them. In this tutorial, I will show you how to do that.

1. Select your file.

First, select the files that you want to zip and then after selecting them,

  • a) right-click and select -"Sent to".
  • b)Click on the" Compressed Zip folder".

  •  Click on Extract, leave the default location or you can also extract to another location if you want to. By default, it will extract the files at the same location, so you need not worry after the files have been finished unzipping they will automatically appear in a new window.
