Today I am going to show you a solution that might reverse the mistake you did and make your computer or laptop function like it was before.
HOW TO USE SYSTEM RESTORE?
System Restore is a very good feature in Microsoft Windows that you can use to revert the changes made to your system after the most recent restore point is made. Many a time we make some mistake or a problem occurs and we are not able to undo the change or make the problem right, then you use System Restore.
Without any delay, let's get to the process of using it.
For this article, I am using Windows 7 but the steps are all the same you just have to relate but still I'll show you the steps if you have any problem you can comment down.
ALERT: USING SYSTEM RESTORE DOES NOT CHANGE YOU PERSONAL FILES, SO FEEL SAFE.
ALERT: This method of checking the protection is to be done only when the protection is off for C: drive otherwise do not change the settings.
2. Select a restore point name: When you click on 'Create' a new dialog box will open type a name with which you can recognize this system restore point. Like I choose 'crystal' for the name. Once you have chosen then click on 'Create' and the restore point will be created.
Your restore point is created.
Now you to use System Restore.
You can open the system restore from the same dialog box. In the same dialog box, there is a button called 'System Restore' you can click on it and the dialog box will open. Or you can just click on the start menu and type 'System Restore' and click on it. The result is the same.
As you see on the screen. The System Restore dialog box will open and then click on 'Next', Then select the most recent restore point or the one you want to restore. You will see the date and time of the restore point too.
NOTE: YOU can also scan for affected programs when you select a restore point, then all the programs installed after the restore point will be uninstalled, so you can check if any of your programs will be affected or not. Even if they are affected, if hope you can install them again.
After you have chosen click 'Next'. A new screen will come up where it will show you which restore point you have chosen and then you have to click on 'Next'. And you will get this caution:
Once System Restore has started it cannot be stopped, Do you wish to continue, click 'yes'.
After you click yes. The process will begin and now just don't do anything make sure you close all programs before you start system restore. Now wait for the process to finish it will take some time, it can take like 30 minutes, depending upon the speed of your processor, and you pc will restart by itself and you will get a confirmation that you pc has been successfully reverted to a restore point.
ALERT: During this process do not do anything that will disturb this process, or use your computer, this is pretty serious stuff because your system files are getting changed.
NOTE: If after your computer restarts and you get an error like the restoration process was not successful, then the most probable reason is that your antivirus would have intervened in the way.
So, what you can do is disable your antivirus until restart and run the process again.
NOTE THIS IS FOR MY ANTIVIRUS, BUT THE PROCESS IS SAME FOR MOST OF THEM
Go to the system tray icon list and click on your antivirus icon and click on pause protection.
And select Pause. Click on Pause or if you don't have that option click on Pause till application restart and click on Pause.
That's it you're done.
If you have any problems with any settings that is not letting you do your usual work i.e. a system malfunction then you can use this procedure. If you have any queries you can mail me at:
Thank you.
